Alamelu Narayanaswamy // Website Associate A cold snowy day in January 2000 saw her off in her quest to learn more about independent programming at the local Public Access Station in Manhattan, Manhattan Neighborhood Network. The concept intrigued her and she was hooked. While waiting for her certifications, she came here to attend a workshop in September that year, the affordable workshops DCTV is known for. She went back to MNN and before long, she started producing Specials – the first one about her dog Tylu, - life from his point of view. Over the years, she has continued volunteering on many other Co-Producers’ shows, and produces a Series entitled Curry N’ Spice aired on MNN, which is about people, life and activities in NYC. She has also been a Costume Supervisor at an award-winning novel's Queens Access Television Adaptation – “Minions of the Race” - a play about Sir Thomas Moore and assisted Film maker David Giardina with his indie suspense film “Taffy Was Born”. When she wanted to broaden her horizons, DCTV was of course the natural choice and became a studio production intern in May 2005. Currently, she assists in Website Maintenance and live Studio Production on Thursdays for the show “Tenants and Neighbors” aired live from DCTV on MNN.
