Naomi Mizoguchi //Editor (212) 966-4510 ext. 222 Naomi Mizoguchi has created over 100 films and videos for local governments, commercial companies, broadcast companies, and independent groups in Japan. After graduating from sound and music school in 1992, she started working for a video production company, and then became a freelance director in 1996. One day, when Naomi was working with a producer who had visited DCTV a long time ago, she heard the story of Keiko and Jon, who are co-directors of DCTV. Soon after, Naomi read a book, just published in Japan, which was written by Keiko describing DCTV. Since Naomi had been interested in working for a grass-roots community, DCTV’s mission impressed her and she decided to move to New York in 2004. In 2006, after an internship at DCTV, Naomi started working as a freelance editor and assisting translation productions for NHK, which is the largest public broadcaster in Asia. Naomi was born at Hyogo - a place famous for producing rice for Sake in Japan. Naomi likes to travel to Asia and has visited Nepal, India, Thailand etc. Naomi has a brown belt in Judo and is currently thinking about taking up traditional Japanese martial arts. |
